Deborah Lonsdale comes from an artistic family in Lancashire, England and has been living in North Tipperary since 2001. Her inspiration comes mainly from these two landscapes, especially their trees, particularly in winter form, and their buildings. The colours and lines of ageing architecture are a feature of her latest work and often include the juxtaposition of natural forms with buildings. A keen artist growing up, after pursuing a career in the commercial world she answered her creative calling and resumed her love of painting and drawing in 2008, building up enough work for a solo exhibition in Nenagh library in 2012. She works in a variety of media, including acrylic, oil, pen, watercolour and pencils. She loves experimenting with different techniques and often works in mixed media to achieve her vision. She has also delivered a number of portraits amongst her numerous commissioned pieces, which include landscapes and local scenery.
